Community Circles
Restorative Justice Society

CCRJS is a non-profit society that provides restorative justice and conflict mediation services to individuals, groups and organizations in:

  • Duncan,

  • Crofton,

  • Chemainus,

  • Ladysmith, and

  • Nanaimo

on Vancouver Island, BC. We are a team of trained volunteers from a variety of backgrounds and bring a wide range of skills and experiences to our work as facilitators and mentors.

The CCRJS accepts referrals from:

  • The RCMP,

  • Schools,

  • All levels of government,

  • Community organizations, and

  • Individuals.

We welcome hearing from people who have caused harm, who wish to take responsibility for their actions and are looking for help in making amends.

We are also interested in working with victims who want the opportunity to express how the actions of the offender have affected them, and want to be part of a dialogue on how to repair the harm.

OUR MISSION statement

To educate, engage and involve residents in activities and processes that seek solutions in addressing harm and conflict in their communities.

OUR VISION statement

CCRJS facilitates the coming together of people in conflict to enable them to heal. We do this by offering options to address harm, promote understanding, and generate agreements. Individuals, organizations, and communities in the mid-Island area will be able to gather after harm has been done and ask:

  • Who has been harmed?

  • What are their needs?

  • Who is responsible?

  • What is the best process to involve all to put things right

  • How do we remain committed to our agreements?

These questions foster inclusiveness and respect, aimed at restoring our best selves. Come ask them with us.
